Most people think of fall when they think of photoshoots – this however is an argument for Fun Summertime Family Photos! This family decided to social distance at a 5 star glamping camp ground and we collaborated to get them some super fun family photos of their 4th of July adventure.
I personally don’t think Red white and blue goes out of style, but there is just something about sunshine and those colors that makes for a great color palette for a shoot. We were aiming at capturing the little one’s smile for his birthday, but when you have two fun and lively older sisters, I couldn’t keep my shutter finger from clicking away.
Mom was super prepared for this shoot! We talked extensively about what she was going for, and she brought some totally awesome ideas to the table. My favorite little summer time hack for good hair? BRAIDS! How perfect is that? The Florida humidity can be killer on hair styles, but when you have two perfect French braids, it’s stylish for kids and stays in place.
Additionally she brought some fun props that were minimal & the kids loved them for Fun Summertime Family Photos. The little American flags were just the right size, and I always encourage people to bring accessories (Like a hat!) because it just provides a little something to play with during the shoot.
Additionally, I don’t think we could’ve asked for a better spot for a fun summertime photoshoot. This beautiful glamping spot is located outside of Orlando at the Westgate River Ranch. The shade from the hammock of oak trees made for great lighting, and the addition of hanging moss makes for such a relaxed sippin’ on sweet tea vibe.
This was such a great example of what I try to push for out of my shoots from clients. Open communication and a few very simple style choices made for such a fun summertime photoshoot. Want to see more of my family shoots? Check them out!
Dont be afraid to talk to your photographer about what you’re trying to get out of your time together! I have yet to meet a photog who doesn’t just fall all over themselves for little details!
